Applications

Students may apply to the INS program either through Rutgers-Newark (R-N) or through the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, in Newark (GSBS-N).

Our recommendation is that if you are interested in working with a particular faculty member at R-N, then apply through Rutgers, if you are interested in working with a particular faculty member or members in the GSBS-N, then apply through UMDNJ.

Applying through the University you might eventually reside in for your dissertation research streamlines the administrative paperwork. However, the INS Admissions committee will receive applications submitted through either university.
